About
“The heat inside the club is incredible. I count it to be around 300 people. The club normally takes 200.
People inside lose their heads together with the band, song after song. It´s like it is impossible to end this show. That would be a crime. The audience and the band definately feeds of each others´ energy tonight.
It is The Movements who are playing. A band from Gothenburg, Sweden, who has been around for some years.
I have seen their posters before but was busy at that time. Something I regret now. The Movements are one of the most important bands of the rock ´n roll scene in Sweden and it is easy to understand why. What I get knocked down by tonight is mainly a mix between fast, punky garage rock and heavy psychedelica. It´s like watching The Seeds having intercourse with Hawkwind on stage!
But as if that´s not enough, I hear influences from american folkrock, jazz, pop. What is really interesting if I shall get analythical about it, is that the mix of influences feels completely natural and at the same time highly accesible to the audience. There is not many bands of today, or yesterday, that pulls this off!
As the band are playing the last song of the second encore and a cue already starts to line up at the merch table, I wish for myself that the albums people will buy tonight won´t become rarities in a couple of years and that they will get the impact they deserve – that The Movements have the power to keep on doing what they did tonight.”
