The Movements “Follow”

You don’t know what I feel”.

The Movements celebrate its tenth anniversary with the gestation of “Follow The Movements” (Teen Sound Records, 2011), an LP consisting of one side “A” consisting of six new songs and one side “B” which serves as a reissue of their First EP “Drag me up” (Lonestar Records), a golden opportunity to take over that job, then in 2004 achieved the sold out its original version, recorded in 2002 by Björn Olsson (responsible for the sound of Swedes also Mando Diao .) For those not familiar with this band that is one of the most important in the psychedelic garage rock and were in Spain last March when all rags Farfisa Gimstedt Gustaf, the various vocal registers and their David Henriksson encourage the public gift in climbing on the bar or doing whatever it takes to keep the party did not flag that many fans of the genre point to Gothenburg from their new musical discoveries. “Follow The Movements” released on vinyl by Teen Sound Records (belonging to the Misty Lane label) contains topics as psychedelic touches and even kraut as the opener “My Confession”, added others of a punk as “Vicious & Vast” also present in the rapid and coreable “You’re Alone”, one of the most accessible album, dressed in demonic guitar solo and drum rolls. “In My Time” recalls the most harmonious way and the 60 with a perfect body. The saturated “Red Headed Girl” gives way to closing with the epic “You Do not Know”, much like the Doors, predominantly Eastern-flavored guitar, imitating a sitar, and a single sentence, “You do not Know What I Feel. ”

THE MOVEMENTS ‘FOLLOW’
(Teen Sound)

Ci sono poi anche un’outtake da ‘The World, The Flesh And The Devil’ dello scorso anno e quattro nuove composizioni, nelle quali, guidata dall’organo, la deriva space rock decolla verso galassie lontane. An interesting journey into space E ‘digging in the underground that are really interesting short Movements such as these, an important reality in Gothenburg, Sweden, where the team base. The plant of their sound comes from the nearest garage to punk, which our loved items in time space rock, psychedelia, ’60s vocal harmonies and melodies with a touch of Scandinavian folk melancholy. Think of the 13th Floor Elevators come together to Hawkwind with the aim of celebrating an album in the business of an astronaut (which really made the Movements with compatriot Chrsiter Fuglesang, who has returned bringing their disk space). ‘Follow’ is the album that celebrates their ten years as a band. Find the entire area EP ‘Drag Me Up’ in 2004 where the formula of the group is a bit ‘more canonically garage rock. There are also un’outtake from ‘The World, The Flesh And The Devil’ from last year and four new compositions, in which, led by the organ, space rock drift off to distant galaxies.

The Movements “Follow”

You don’t know what I feel.

The Movements – Follow

The tanned Swedish band garage rock THE MOVEMENTS celebrates its tenth anniversary with the publication by Teen Sound Records (part of the seal Misty Lane) a very interesting LP full of good songs that go beyond the 60′s garage as a review of this decade and a gift to his followers and which includes six new songs (four recorded in 2010 and two others were unpublished previous sessions) and six issues published as an EP in 2004.
The album was released on vinyl, opens with My Confession, with an original song structure for a garage that does not detract from anxious and urgent character and gives great appeal, a mixture of punk groups of 77 and the revival of garagero 80, seasoned by the distinctive voice of David Henriksson. Vicious & Vast is more than the garage punk spirit whose chorus has an acidic and psychedelic in it I can hear echoes of the 13th Floor Elevators! You’re Alone is a garage nugget, fast and intense, accurate vocals and guitar solo backed by manic drum fills. In My Time has a certain air to the Stranglers, I can guess is one of the references of Movements (The Stranglers of the first disc, of course) with a body bag in curious arpeggios. Red Headed Girl has a guitar sound and an air saturated psychedelic, and more touches to the Stranglers with that keyboard with reverb. To complete the A side, You Do not Know, long psychedelic suite as they would the Doors to complete their first two albums, a raga with oriental guitar and a single sentence that is repeated like a mantra, You Do not Know What I feel.
Side B contains the songs from their EP Drag Me Up, and six cuts are framed within the “garagera orthodoxy.” Thinking Too Fast start shouting Go! and is 2 minutes and 10 seconds of garage punk spirit, Drag Me Up, upward spiral of keyboards on the best line? Mark & The Mysterians, is a desperate cry and challenging to have to grow, It’s Time To Go begins with an instrumental intro garagera which leads to a theme whose melody and keyboards give it a more independent pop and a final letter, while that I Give You Feel Groovy and Head’s garage 60′s whose power leaves no doubts as well as CCTV that begins with a familiar guitar riff (Louie Louie) supported by the keyboard.
The quintet, with the voice Henriksson, Daniel “Dolly” Pettersson on bass, Gustaf Gimstedt on keyboards, Christian “Krita” Johansson on guitar and Thomas Widholm to the battery, which one of their albums has sounded in the space (a Swedish astronaut took him to the International Space Station!) faces a new decade … hopefully just as successful and full of rock!
